Amy Mantyka takes the role of director, bringing her extensive background in movement and performance to the screen. Amy has an innate ability to get an uncompromisingly good performance out of all actors, interviewees, and talent. She is also a part-time producer and a full time friend.
Mike Maekelburger can usually be found behind the camera or in the grip workshop. He is Play Creative's lead cinematographer, and he brings his keen sense of movement, lighting, and composition to the screen. Mike also loves spreadsheets, angle grinders, calculators, and rappelling off of tall things.
As producer, Chris "Mr. Saskatchewan" Miller is typically your point of contact with Play Creative. He keeps the ships sailing on-time and on-budget. Chris is also a creative lead, playing an integral role with creative development and script writing. If he didn't already wear enough hats, he also finds time to be our lead editor.
Allan Roeher is a jack-of-all-trades who can do just about anything in film! With his experience as a producer, Allan has a firm understanding of the many facets of film. Filling most of his time as our Equipment Manager, he also runs the show on certain shoots as our First Assistant Director. In his free time, he enjoys ping-pong, fitness, and yelling at Chris.
Ruben is the man with the magic ears. He brings his incredible skills in audio recording, mixing and editing to all of our projects. He's creative, practical, and everything you would want in a sound guru.
Susan, as our Operations Manager, is affectionately known as our "Office Whip". She keeps the invoices/payables moving and cost reports filled! She also is not-so-affectionately known as our "Fitness Whip", with the office regularly grumbling as she tries her hardest to get the office to eat well and exercise.
Monty is relatively new to film, but he learns quickly. His main role is office greeter, but he often takes the role of set runner, gaffer, dolly grip, or sand bag.
